Fast forward to present day, I called the other night requesting our records from that evening to be sent to our primary vet because he was having a procedure done and we informed her that he had a very difficult time coming out of what they administered that evening upon his emergency room visit. She wanted to see the type of medication that was given and how much the dosage was before she performed her procedure. Low and behold they HAVE NO RECORD of our dog ever being given any sedation other than an anti-inflammatory shot which should have NEVER yielded the outcome of a dog not being able to get the hell up after being sedated. Two women at the front desk proceeded to tell me that there was ZERO mention of the sedation. The office manager said she even checked the controlled substance log and there wasn't anything listed for my dog's visit. Hmmmmmmmm so tell me, how the F@#$ did the dog go to sleep? I am actually disgusted. I will NEVER take any of my animals back to this emergency vet because of this experience. Beware and do your research and make sure you ask questions prior to having your dog examined at this location for an emergency visit. I know sometimes as pet owners we have no other choice, but I am TRULY disgusted.

These people are completely incompetent. If you value your pets life and well being PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! I urge you to look elsewhere for care. They will do absolutely nothing for you and then charge you a ton of money. Not to mention Dr. Leonard Berk is incredibly rude. They may be convenient as a 24 hour vet but there are so many others that will provide much better care. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!

I am posting this because like many pets owners, my pets are my children and I always want what is best for them. We took my dog their one night because he wasn't eating and he was running a fever. It was after hours and we didn't have many options. Our regular vet was closed. He had also eaten a chicken bone and we were concerned. Our dog is a big guy and when they took him in the back to x-ray him, I guess he wasn't cooperating. Therefore the Veterinarian came out and asked us directly herself if she could give hims something to sedate him. We agreed. After the xrays, they put Rocky in a room on the floor and the dog wasn't waking up, now mind you the dog was at least 125lbs at this point. We had a very difficult time having him come out of whatever they administered. They didn't even check on him to try and help us wake him and just said "he needs time". Needless to say we were concerned. They sent us home with antibiotics and we went on our way. When I took the dog home I realized he had an infection on his paw that they didn't even realize upon examination of him. He ended up having a staph infection that they didn't diagnose. Our regular vet did the next day.

Our senior dog Razire was not herself and after an xray and ultrasound it was determined she had a foreign object in her stomach that was not going to pass. There were concerns about doing the surgery, but without it she would die. The staff- all of them and especially Dr. Berk were wonderful. We were beside ourselves with worry, especially after surgery when she would not eat. But everyone remained hopeful and available to answer my endless calls of questions and checking in. I hope that you never need an emergency hospital, but if you do I HIGHLY recommend Taconic 202. Thank you and Razire says THANK YOU!!

Not a positive experience. I brought my injured 2 year old cat there; they sedated her, took X-rays and examined her. I was told there were no broken bones, no signs of internal bleeding; I was sent home with 3 pills for anti-inflammation/pain. My cat DIED 12 days later. I went back and asked for medical records and to speak with doctor. I needed to understand how she could've died, what might've went wrong. I waited an hour to see the vet who examined her, the receptionist kept telling me she was busy and her shift is over at 3. By 3:15, after asking yet again they told me she left for they day. Mind you, the receptionist told the vet we were waiting to speak with her. I ended up speaking with another vet who tried to explain that they treated the cat for what they felt was necessary at the time and that perhaps an infection developed, they cannot speculate how she died and perhaps it was an underlying disease. My cat was tested for diseases and received shots from ASPCA when I first got her. If it was a possible infection, I was never given anti-biotics and they never took her blood. Either way, my cat is gone, it's a very upsetting and frustrating situation.

They were extremely accommodating in seeing our dog in a quick time-frame on a Sunday emergency apt. Prices were reasonable for an emergency visit, and the care and attention our dog got from Dr. Berk was fantastic. In addition, the office was super clean and the staff was super patient and kind! We will be switching to their general practice going forward for the routine care of our dog and not just as a 24/7 emergency outlet. We certainly recommend!
